Having many years experience in the Pottery industry providing silk screen prints for most of the top pottery companies we decided to produce our own range of fine bone china mugs. So in September 2012 The Pot Bank was formed, taking our name from the colloquial term for a pottery factory - 'Pot Bank'.
We are passionate about, and dedicated to, producing items using traditional methods of silk screen printing (no digital here!!), and hand decorating techniques, and we pride ourselves on producing items made entirely in Stoke-on-Trent.
Our mugs are purchased from a local company that has been producing china in Stoke-on-Trent for over 100 years.
Every item produced has our own pattern, designed, printed, decorated and fired by ourselves, in one premises in Burslem, the Mother town of the Staffordshire Potteries and birthplace of Josiah Wedgwood.
We fire our items in an intermittent kiln, ensuring a beautiful gloss finish. This is more costly than using a fast fire kiln but the end result is worth it and combined with silk screen printed transfers give outstanding quality.
Our style is typically English and our motto is "Keep It Simple". We believe that simple is stylish.
We have incorporated a sense of fun with our unique, modern and contemporary 'Hoop' mugs decorated with bands of up to date, fresh clean colours and witty, affectionate and even cultured quotes. They can also be personalised, providing the perfect gift to show friends and family that you have really been thinking about them.
Our back stamp was born from a love, bordering on obsession, of the Bottle Kiln, the iconic and, in our opinion, beautiful structure that defined the Potteries fronm the 18th century. There were over 2,000 of them standing at any one time and they could be seen every where one looked.
We are also passionate about providing excellent customer service, striving for perfection in production, communication and delivery.
The best part of all is making people smile!
